Who is CoverMyClass for?
CoverMyClass is for school staff: administrators, teachers, internal cover staff, cover coordinators, and approved external cover staff. It is not a student-facing platform — no student data is collected or stored.
Is each school's data kept separate and private?
Yes. Each school has its own isolated workspace. Data is never shared between schools, even within a MAT. Access is role-based and fully auditable.
How does the handover process work?
Cover staff leave structured notes against each lesson and day. The returning teacher sees exactly what was covered, what needs follow-up, and any behaviour notes. It's designed to eliminate the "what happened while I was away?" problem.
How long does it take to create a cover plan?
Most teachers can create a quality cover plan in under 10 minutes using our templates. Even in an emergency morning absence, you can set up clear instructions quickly from your phone.
Is CoverMyClass GDPR compliant?
Absolutely. GDPR compliance is built into our architecture, not bolted on. We only collect professional staff data needed to run the service. No student data is collected. All data is hosted in the UK. We can provide a full Data Processing Agreement for your procurement team.
Do you integrate with school MIS systems?
We focus on the cover workflow first. Integration options depend on your setup and will be discussed during onboarding. We're building towards common MIS integrations and Google/Microsoft workspace connections.
What does onboarding look like?
We verify your school via URN/DfE number, set up your workspace, and walk your team through the platform. Most schools are live within a week. We provide training materials and ongoing support.
Can cover teachers use it on their phone?
Yes. CoverMyClass is fully responsive and designed mobile-first. Cover teachers can view their assignments, access lesson plans, and leave handover notes from any device.
