Questions we get asked first.
The five questions almost every senior leader asks before requesting a demo.
How long does implementation take?
Most schools are live within a half-term. We import your behaviour policy, seating plans and SEND adjustments, and your cover coordinator runs through a 45-minute setup with us. Schools that just want to trial the platform on a single year group can be operational in under a week.
Do we need our IT team involved?
No deployment, no on-premises install, no integrations required to start. CoverMyClass runs in the browser and cover staff access it on whatever device they already use. If your IT team wants to whitelist domains, configure single sign-on, or run a cyber-security review, we have packs ready — but none of that is needed to begin.
What data do you need from us to onboard?
For the trial: your behaviour policy and a sample timetable. For a full deployment: your staff list, your behaviour and safeguarding policies, and seating plans. We do not require pupil records and we never become a pupil information system. The school remains the data controller throughout.
Is there a contract minimum?
The 60-day trial has no contract, no card, no auto-renewal. After trial, schools can move to a rolling monthly arrangement or an annual term — whichever fits your budget cycle. MATs typically prefer annual, but we never require it.
Does it integrate with SIMS, Arbor or Bromcom?
It can, but it doesn't need to. CoverMyClass is designed to add value without forcing a systems-integration project. For schools that want deeper integration, we have read-only connectors for SIMS and Arbor (and a Bromcom one in beta). For everyone else, the manual workflow is two minutes per absence.
